Problem 1: Starting Issues (Won't Start or Hard to Start)
Symptoms:
- Engine cranks but won't start
- Requires multiple kick/electric start attempts
- Starts only with choke even when warm
Common Causes & Solutions:
Cause 1: Clogged Fuel Filter
Solution: Replace RAK00002/B Fuel Pump Strainer (Reborn, Meteor, Hunter 350)
We've seen 50+ cases where a ₹200 fuel filter solved starting problems owners thought were engine issues.
Cause 2: Dirty Air Filter
Solution: Replace air filter:
- 576029/C Air Filter (Interceptor 650, GT 650)
- 1570250/D Air Filter (Classic Reborn, Hunter, Meteor 350)
- RLY00037/D Air Filter (Himalayan 450, Guerrilla 450)
Cause 3: Weak Battery
Solution: Test battery voltage (should be 12.6V+). Replace if below 12.4V.
Cause 4: Faulty Spark Plugs
Solution: Replace spark plugs (NGK CR8EH-9 for 650 twins, check manual for other models)
Problem 2: Oil Leaks
Symptoms:
- Oil puddle under bike after parking
- Oil dripping from engine
- Low oil level despite recent top-up
Common Causes & Solutions:
Cause 1: Worn Clutch Cover Gasket
Solution: Replace 1570109/E Clutch Cover Gasket (Reborn, Meteor, Hunter 350)
This is the #1 oil leak source on J-Series models. ₹150 gasket vs ₹500 wasted oil.
Cause 2: Oil Filter Not Properly Sealed
Solution: Replace with genuine 575139/F Oil Filter and torque correctly
Cause 3: Damaged Oil Drain Plug Washer
Solution: Replace drain plug copper washer (₹20 part prevents ₹500 oil loss)
Problem 3: Clutch Slipping or Hard to Shift
Symptoms:
- RPM increases but bike doesn't accelerate
- Burning smell from clutch
- Difficulty shifting gears
- Clutch lever feels loose or tight
Common Causes & Solutions:
Cause 1: Worn Clutch Friction Plates
Solution: Replace 570436/C Clutch Friction Plate Kit (Classic 350/500 UCE)
Typical lifespan: 30,000-40,000 km. Replace entire kit, not individual plates.
Cause 2: Stretched or Frayed Clutch Cable
Solution: Replace clutch cable:
We've had 3 cable failures on highways. Replace at 30,000 km preventatively.
Cause 3: Worn Wheel Clutch
Solution: Replace 570435/B Wheel Clutch (UCE 350 models)
Problem 4: Poor Braking Performance
Symptoms:
- Longer stopping distance
- Spongy brake lever/pedal
- Squealing or grinding noise
- Brake lever goes to handlebar
Common Causes & Solutions:
Cause 1: Worn Brake Pads
Solution: Replace brake pads when 2mm or less remaining. We recommend Vesrah Ceramic Brake Pads (premium quality, better than OEM)
Cause 2: Worn Brake Discs
Solution: Replace brake discs:
- RAB00076/A 320MM Front Brake Disc (Interceptor 650, GT 650)
- 1100700/D Rear Disc Plate (Meteor, Reborn BS6)
- 1010093/C Rear Disc Plate (Classic 350, Thunderbird, Bullet 500)
- 147652/B Front Brake Disc (Classic, Electra, Standard UCE)
Cause 3: Old Brake Fluid
Solution: Flush and replace brake fluid (DOT 4) every 2 years or 30,000 km
Problem 5: Chain Noise & Excessive Wear
Symptoms:
- Rattling or clanking noise from chain
- Chain feels loose even after adjustment
- Uneven chain tension
- Visible rust or kinks
Solution:
Replace entire chain & sprocket kit:

Maintenance: Lubricate every 500 km with Rolon Chain Lube and clean with Rolon Chain Cleaner
Problem 6: Electrical Issues (Lights, Indicators, Horn)
Symptoms:
- Headlight/tail light not working
- Indicators not flashing
- Horn not working or weak
- Switches not responding
Common Causes & Solutions:
Cause 1: Faulty Switch Modules
Solution: Replace switch modules:

Cause 2: Burned Out Bulbs
Solution: Replace with LED upgrades:

Problem 7: Engine Overheating
Symptoms:
- Temperature gauge in red zone
- Loss of power
- Engine knocking
- Coolant boiling (if liquid-cooled)
Common Causes & Solutions:
Cause 1: Low or Dirty Engine Oil
Solution: Use genuine Royal Enfield oil:
- 3900105 Royal Enfield Liquid Gun 10W50 Engine Oil 1L (Interceptor 650, GT 650)
Change oil every 5,000 km or 6 months. Never use cheap oil—we've rebuilt engines that failed due to ₹500 oil savings.
Cause 2: Clogged Oil Filter
Solution: Replace 575139/F Oil Filter every service
Cause 3: Blocked Air Filter
