Q1. Is this for the engine cam chain or the rear drive chain?
It’s for the engine cam chain (timing chain), not the rear wheel chain. RLG00009/C is an internal auto tensioner that bolts to the engine and maintains cam chain tension.
Q2. What symptoms mean my cam chain tensioner might be bad?
Common signs include rattling / ticking from the timing chain area, especially on cold start, inconsistent noise that changes with rpm, or visible excessive slack when the engine is inspected. In severe cases, timing can drift, causing poor performance or misfiring.
Q3. Do I need to change the O-ring or gasket with it?
