GT 650 to Interceptor 650 Handlebar Conversion — Transform Your Riding Position

GT 650 to Interceptor 650 Handlebar Conversion — Transform Your Riding Position

Two Bikes, One Engine — Very Different Riding Positions

The Royal Enfield GT 650 and Interceptor 650 share the same brilliant parallel-twin engine and chassis. The difference is the handlebar. The GT 650 runs low, clip-on style bars for a sportier, forward-leaning riding position. The Interceptor 650 runs higher, wider bars for a relaxed, upright posture.

Many GT 650 owners find the aggressive position tiring on long rides. Many Interceptor 650 owners want a sportier feel. The solution is simple — swap the bars.

GT 650 to Interceptor 650 Conversion — Who Needs This

  • GT 650 tourers — the clip-on position is punishing on rides over 2 hours. Interceptor bars transform long-distance comfort.
  • GT 650 city riders — upright position gives better visibility and control in traffic
  • Riders with back or wrist issues — the forward lean of the GT puts more weight on wrists and compresses the lower back

Interceptor 650 to GT 650 Conversion — Who Needs This

  • Interceptor owners who want a sportier feel — the GT bars lower your centre of gravity and sharpen the handling feel
  • Track day riders — the GT position is more aerodynamic and committed
  • Riders who prefer the GT aesthetic on an Interceptor
