KTM Variant – Buyer Fitment Guide

The KTM version uses the sport-style black hugger with a KTM-logo / KTM-style marked metal support arm and the corresponding multi-point mounting linkage shown with the product.

Current aftermarket sellers offer this general bracket family for motorcycles including:

BMW Variant – G310R / G310GS

The BMW version is intended around the BMW G310R / G310GS rear mounting layout and is supplied with the corresponding BMW-specific metal support / bracket arrangement.

• BMW G310R – target application
• BMW G310GS – target application

TVS Apache RR310 is not automatically compatible. Sharing an engine family does not mean the swingarm, axle, brake and hugger mounting geometry are identical.

Not a Generic “Fits Every Bike” Product

The outer box may use broad wording such as “Suitable for All Bike”, but this should not be interpreted as guaranteed direct fit on every motorcycle.

The actual fitment depends on:

• swingarm design
• rear axle / mounting points
• brake caliper position
• ABS sensor and ABS-wire routing
• chain and sprocket clearance
• exhaust clearance
• rear tyre width and profile
• bracket geometry

That is why Under The Hood lists KTM and BMW as separate fitment variants rather than calling one bracket universally direct-fit.

What a Rear Tyre Hugger Does

The hugger sits closer to the rotating rear tyre than the main factory rear fender and acts as a secondary splash guard.

It helps reduce:

• mud thrown upward by the tyre
• rainwater / road spray
• slush around the rear of the motorcycle
• dirt reaching the rear bodywork
• spray toward the rider / pillion area
• some contamination around the swingarm and suspension area

It reduces splash; it does not completely enclose the tyre or guarantee zero mud / water spray.

Before Ordering – 8-Point Buyer Check

1. Select the correct KTM or BMW variant.
2. Compare the supplied bracket shape with your motorcycle's rear mounting layout.
3. Confirm rear brake caliper clearance.
4. Check ABS sensor and wiring position.
5. Check chain / sprocket clearance on chain-drive motorcycles.
6. Check exhaust / silencer clearance.

Installation Guidance

1. Secure the motorcycle safely before working around the rear wheel.
2. Identify the correct motorcycle-side mounting points for the selected bracket.
3. Loosely assemble the support arm and mounting linkage first.
4. Position the hugger centrally over the rear tyre.
5. Check clearance from the brake caliper and brake hose.
6. Check ABS sensor / wheel-speed wiring if fitted.
7. Check chain and sprocket clearance.
8. Check exhaust clearance.
9. Tighten hardware progressively only after alignment is correct.
10. Rotate the rear wheel manually through several full revolutions.
11. Check tyre clearance again through available suspension movement.
12. Recheck mounting fasteners after the first ride and periodically thereafter.

Do Not Force-Fit the Bracket

If the bracket does not line up correctly, do not:

• bend the support arm excessively
• drill the swingarm without professional assessment
• mount the bracket onto brake components
• trap or clamp an ABS wire
• allow the plastic hugger to rest against the tyre

Professional accessory installation is recommended when fitment is not straightforward.
