If your Yamaha FZ has started giving chain noise, jerks while accelerating or rusted sprocket teeth, it’s time to replace the full set instead of only the chain. The Rolon KIT NMR F316 is an OEM-grade M-Ring sealed chain & sprocket kit developed specifically for Yamaha FZ V2.0/V3.0/V4.0 rear disc FI models, and also used on FZS FI and FZX 150 based on the same rear-disc platform.

This kit uses a R428NMR, 128-link sealed M-Ring chain with solid bushes, paired with a 14T front sprocket and 41T rear sprocket (6-hole flower pattern) – the same spec widely referenced by leading retailers and Rolon dealers. The M-Ring design reduces friction and improves sealing around the pins, giving you smoother power delivery, lower noise and significantly longer life than a standard non-sealed chain.

Rolon is one of India’s best-known OE suppliers for motorcycle chains and sprockets, and this kit is built for 125–250 cc bikes that see daily commutes, highway touring and bad roads.

Buying from Under The Hood means you get fresh, genuine Rolon stock, checked and packed with extra protection (as in our product photos) plus real-world guidance on chain slack, lubrication and replacement intervals. Pair this kit with a good chain cleaner & lube from our store and your FZ will feel tight, smooth and ready for many more kilometres.

Installation & Maintenance Notes

  • Always replace chain and both sprockets together to avoid premature wear.

  • After installation, adjust chain slack to Yamaha spec (usually around 20–30 mm at mid-span – check your owner’s manual).

  • Re-torque front sprocket nut and rear sprocket bolts to factory values; use thread-locker where recommended.

  • Lube the chain every 500–700 km or after every rain wash/monsoon ride using quality chain lube; clean with chain cleaner or kerosene, never petrol or harsh solvents.

  • Check chain free-play and tight spots regularly; replace kit if any link is seized, chain has stretched close to service limit, or sprocket teeth turn “sharp/ hooked”.

FAQs

Q1. Will KIT NMR F316 fit my Yamaha FZ V2 with drum brake?
No. NMR F316 is designed for rear disc, fuel-injected FZ/FZS/FZX models. Drum-brake or older carb FZs use different sprocket sizes and hub pattern.

Q2. Does this kit fit FZ V4 and the latest FZS?
Store4Riders lists the same spec (14T/41T, 428, 128L) for FZ V2/V3/V4, so most V4 bikes with stock gearing should accept this kit. Because Yamaha sometimes revises sprocket specs, we mark V4 fitment as – please check your existing teeth count and hub pattern before ordering.

Q3. What is the difference between this M-Ring kit and a normal open chain?
M-Ring chains use special sealing rings and solid bushes to keep lubricant inside the chain and dirt out, giving smoother operation, less noise and significantly longer service life compared to a standard non-sealed chain, especially in Indian dust and traffic.

Q4. Do I need to change the chain adjuster blocks or sprocket carrier as well?
If your adjuster blocks and cush-drive rubbers are in good condition, you can reuse them. If there is noticeable play in the rear hub or rubber dampers, we recommend replacing dampers along with this kit for best results.

Q5. Is this genuine Rolon or a local duplicate chain kit?
This is a 100% genuine Rolon KIT NMR F316, sourced from official L.G. Balakrishnan & Bros channels. The box carries the Rolon hologram, manufacturing details and MRP, and is shipped sealed from Under The Hood with GST invoice.

Q6. How long will this kit last?
With correct chain slack and regular cleaning/lubrication, many FZ riders see 20,000–30,000 km or more from an M-Ring kit in mixed conditions. Actual life depends heavily on riding style, load and maintenance.
