Restore the correct piston-ring specification of a Royal Enfield Continental GT 535 UCE engine with genuine standard-size Ring Set 573019.
This engine-internal set covers the first compression, second compression and oil-control ring positions used with the standard 535 cc piston and cylinder specification. It is intended for a properly measured rebuild—not as a universal ring set or a guaranteed cure for smoke, oil consumption or low compression.
Important: 573019 is for the discontinued single-cylinder Continental GT 535. It does not fit the current Continental GT 650.
What This Product Is
Royal Enfield 573019 is the genuine standard-size piston ring set catalogued for the Continental GT 535 UCE engine. The factory parts system separately identifies the three ring positions as:
- 573020/A: first/top compression-ring position
- 573021/A: second compression-ring position
- 573022/A: third/oil-control ring position
The product sold under 573019 is the ring-set reference. It is not the piston-and-ring assembly 573016/A and not the barrel, piston and ring assembly 888291.
Key Features
- Genuine Royal Enfield engine spare.
- Exact part number: 573019, catalogued without a slash suffix.
- Standard-size specification for the 535 cc UCE piston and barrel.
- Covers the first-compression, second-compression and oil-control ring positions.
- Confirmed in both Euro 3/BSIII and Euro 4/BSIV Continental GT 535 catalogues.
- Suitable for a measured engine rebuild when the standard-size bore and piston remain serviceable.
- Exact-SKU packaging helps avoid mixing it with 350 cc, 500 cc, 650 cc or oversize ring sets.
Confirmed Compatibility
| Motorcycle | Engine / generation | Catalogue application | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Royal Enfield Continental GT 535 | 535 cc single-cylinder UCE | BSIII / Euro 3 | Confirmed |
| Royal Enfield Continental GT 535 | 535 cc single-cylinder UCE | BSIV / Euro 4 | Confirmed |
Use the motorcycle model, engine family and current measured bore condition—not registration year alone—to select internal engine parts.
Fitment and Return-Prevention Note
Do not order solely because the motorcycle is called Continental GT. Royal Enfield has used that name for different engines and generations.
573019 is not confirmed for:
- Continental GT 650 twin-cylinder models
- Interceptor 650 or any other Royal Enfield 650
- Classic 500, Bullet 500, Thunderbird 500 or another 500 cc UCE model
- Classic 350, Bullet 350, Thunderbird 350 or another 350 cc model
- Older cast-iron or AVL 535 engines
- Himalayan, Scram, Meteor, Hunter, Guerrilla or J-Series engines
- A cylinder that has been rebored or requires an oversize piston/ring specification
Before purchase, a qualified engine technician must confirm the exact model, engine number or VIN catalogue, existing piston size, cylinder bore diameter, taper, ovality, surface condition, piston condition and required ring size. The word STD means standard size; it does not mean the set will fit every unmodified-looking engine.
Do not use new rings to mask a scored, worn, tapered or out-of-round cylinder, a damaged piston or ring groove, or a valve-guide, valve-seal or head-gasket fault. Those conditions may require additional parts or machining.
Once placed or confirmed, an order cannot be cancelled, modified, exchanged or refunded for wrong model, wrong engine, incorrect size selection, mechanic recommendation, duplicate ordering or diagnosis error. Correctly supplied engine internals are non-returnable. Opened, installed, test-fitted, filed, measured against a bore, marked, damaged, altered, used or incomplete parts are not eligible.
Record one continuous unboxing video before opening the inner sealed packaging. Wrong, missing or transit-damaged-item claims must be reported within 24 hours with the video, photographs, invoice and original packaging.

Installation and Diagnostic Note
This repair requires cylinder-head and cylinder-barrel removal, precision measurement and correct piston-ring installation. It should be performed by an experienced Royal Enfield engine technician with the applicable service manual and calibrated measuring tools.
Before installation, the technician must inspect and measure the cylinder bore, piston, ring grooves and ring side clearance; place each ring squarely in the bore and verify end gap; identify the correct ring face and position from the supplied markings; protect the ring lands during assembly; and set ring-gap positions according to the service procedure. Never force, twist excessively or install a ring upside down.
The Continental GT Euro III training guide gives new compression-ring end-gap ranges of 0.20–0.35 mm for the first ring and 0.35–0.50 mm for the second ring. These values must not replace the current service information for the exact VIN, market and parts supplied. If measurements or markings conflict, stop and obtain authorised technical confirmation.
After reassembly, use the specified gaskets, fastener torques, lubricants, oil level and start-up checks for the exact motorcycle. This ring set alone does not include the other consumables required for an engine rebuild.
Buyer-Focused FAQs
1. Is 573019 a genuine Royal Enfield part?
Yes. It is the genuine Royal Enfield standard-size 535 cc piston-ring-set reference.
2. Which motorcycle is it confirmed for?
The single-cylinder Royal Enfield Continental GT 535 UCE.
3. Does it fit both BSIII and BSIV Continental GT 535?
Yes. The same 573019 reference appears in the Euro 3/BSIII and Euro 4/BSIV catalogues.
4. Does it fit the Continental GT 650?
No. The GT 650 uses a completely different twin-cylinder engine.
5. Does it fit the Interceptor 650?
No.
6. Does it fit Classic 500 or Bullet 500?
No confirmed 573019 application is listed for those 500 cc UCE models.
7. Does it fit an older 535 Bullet, Lightning or AVL engine?
No. Selection by displacement alone is unsafe; 573019 is catalogued for the Continental GT 535 UCE application.
8. What does STD mean?
STD means standard size. It is not an oversize ring set.
9. Can it be fitted after the cylinder has been rebored?
Only if a qualified technician measures the finished bore and confirms that the standard-size specification remains correct. A rebored cylinder commonly requires a matching oversize piston and rings.
10. Are the top, second and oil rings covered?
Yes. The set corresponds to all three ring positions.
11. How many physical pieces are in the package?
The oil-control position may use a multi-piece construction. Check the sealed genuine package and supplied markings; do not assume piece count from generic photographs.
12. Is a piston included?
No. The piston-and-ring assembly is a different reference, 573016/A.
13. Is the cylinder barrel included?
No. Barrel, piston and ring assembly 888291 is separate.
14. Are gaskets included?
No. Head and cylinder-base gaskets must be selected separately for the exact rebuild.
15. Will new rings automatically stop engine smoke?
No. Smoke can also result from bore wear, piston damage, valve-guide or valve-seal wear, excessive oil, breather faults or other problems. Diagnose first.
16. Will the set automatically restore compression?
No guarantee can be made without measuring the bore, piston, grooves, valves and sealing surfaces.
17. Must the cylinder bore be measured?
Yes. Diameter, taper, ovality and surface condition must be checked before selecting or installing rings.
18. Should ring end gap be checked?
Yes. Each ring must be squared in the actual bore and measured according to the applicable service procedure.
19. Can a general mechanic install it?
Use a technician experienced in internal-engine measurement and Royal Enfield UCE rebuilding. This is not a simple external bolt-on part.
20. What should be confirmed before the sealed package is opened?
Confirm part number 573019, Continental GT 535 UCE application, standard-size requirement, package condition and the technician’s bore and piston measurements.
