Restore your original Royal Enfield handlebar grip arrangement with the genuine KAB00024/A hand grip set. This OEM kit is identified for the Himalayan 411 and Scram 411, supplying the left-hand grip and the matching right-hand throttle-side grip component. The correct RH throttle-side fitment is particularly important: a similar-looking rubber grip from another Royal Enfield motorcycle does not establish interchangeability.

The kit is supplied under one genuine Royal Enfield kit number KAB00024/A. Its OEM breakdown identifies these two component references. The Himalayan handlebar EPC shows one LH grip and one RH grip used on a motorcycle. Check the sealed retail packet for final piece counts; the catalogue quantity is not independently verified as the sealed-package count.
Confirmed and Supported Motorcycle Fitment
| Motorcycle | Evidence and purchasing check |
|---|---|
| Royal Enfield Himalayan 411 – Euro 4 / BS4 | Both exact grip numbers are identified in the model handlebar EPC. |
| Royal Enfield Himalayan 411 – later BS6 configurations | Both exact grip numbers appear in a 2022 BS6 handlebar parts listing; check original handlebar/throttle setup. |
| Royal Enfield Scram 411 | Exact KAB00024/A kit advertised for Scram 411 by independent Royal Enfield spares sellers; match both grips and RH throttle arrangement before ordering. |
For bikes with modified handlebars, aftermarket throttle tubes, heated grips, handguard adapters or other non-standard controls, verify the original component numbers and physical mounting arrangement before purchase.
Not Established / Do Not Order Solely by Appearance
This kit is not verified for Himalayan 450, Guerrilla 450, Scram 440, Classic 350 Reborn, Meteor 350, Hunter 350, Bullet 350, Continental GT 650, Interceptor 650 or other models. Similar handlebar diameter does not prove that the RH throttle grip component 587318/A fits.
Why the RH Throttle Grip Controls Fitment
The left-hand grip is installed on the stationary handlebar end. The right-hand component fits at the throttle control and must be compatible with the exact throttle tube/control assembly. The suitability of both 587317/A and 587318/A is necessary for this complete kit to be appropriate. A motorcycle using only the LH part is not enough to claim kit compatibility.
What This Kit Is — and Is Not
This is an OEM hand grip replacement kit intended to restore the original LH and RH handgrip configuration. It is not a complete handlebar, a throttle cable kit, a switch-module set, a grip heater, a bar-end weight set or a control-housing assembly. The supplied BOM does not separately list throttle cables, sleeves/tubes, adhesives, bolts or bar-end fittings; do not assume those additional items are included.
When to Replace the Grips
Consider replacement when the rubber is torn, slippery, deteriorated, loose or damaged, or when the original throttle-side grip no longer operates correctly. A stiff or non-returning throttle can have other causes, such as cable adjustment, damaged cable or control interference; inspect and diagnose the full mechanism rather than assuming a replacement grip alone will resolve the fault.
Installation and Safety Guidance
- Check the existing left grip and RH throttle-side control against the exact OEM references before removal.
- Remove bar-end accessories or handguards only as required by the correct service procedure.
- Inspect the throttle mechanism and cable routing for wear, damage or obstructions.
- Fit both grips using the motorcycle-specific workshop method; do not force the RH part onto an incompatible throttle assembly.
- With the engine off, turn the handlebar fully left and right, twist and release the throttle and verify free movement and a positive return at all steering positions.
- Have a qualified motorcycle technician carry out fitting if the throttle-side arrangement is uncertain.
No tightening torque or lubricant/adhesive method is specified here without an exact workshop reference.
Before You Order
Compare your motorcycle model, model year, handlebar controls and existing grip part numbers. Check whether any previous owner installed aftermarket throttle hardware. For an exact-fit question, use the motorcycle VIN and current Royal Enfield EPC. Correctly supplied genuine spare parts cannot be treated as interchangeable simply because their rubber shape looks similar.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this the genuine Royal Enfield kit?
Yes. The genuine kit reference is KAB00024/A, identified as HAND GRIP SET.
Which two OEM parts does it contain?
The supplied OEM breakdown lists 587317/A (LH) and 587318/A (RH throttle-side grip component).
Does this fit Himalayan 411 BS4?
Yes; both component numbers are documented in the Himalayan 411 Euro 4 handlebar catalogue.
Does it fit Himalayan 411 BS6?
The exact LH and RH part numbers are both listed in a Himalayan 411 BS6 handlebar reference. Confirm your original controls and VIN.
Does it fit Scram 411?
Independent genuine-spares sellers list complete KAB00024/A for Scram 411. Match the RH throttle-side control and both grip numbers before ordering.
Does it fit Himalayan 450?
Not established. The Himalayan 450 uses a different platform; do not order based on the Himalayan name alone.
Does it fit Scram 440?
Not established. Scram 411 compatibility does not automatically transfer to Scram 440.
Can I use it for Hunter 350, Meteor 350 or Classic 350?
Not verified for these models. Compare their correct grip and throttle-control OEM references instead.
Is the right grip the throttle grip?
Yes. The BOM calls 587318/A GRIP COMP. THROTTLE RH.
Is the left grip also sold separately?
587317/A is the individual LH OEM component reference; separate availability depends on stock.
Does the kit include a new throttle cable or switches?
No such components appear in the supplied kit breakdown; they must not be assumed included.
Does one kit contain exactly two retail pieces?
The OEM breakdown names an LH and an RH component and the EPC uses one of each on the motorcycle. Confirm the sealed packet quantity before dispatch.
Will replacing the grip fix a sticky throttle?
Not necessarily. A sticking throttle can involve cables, tube, housing or interference; diagnose before replacement.
Should a mechanic install this?
Professional installation is advisable if you are unsure about throttle-control disassembly or throttle return checks.
Related Components to Check
When working on the handlebars, also inspect throttle cables, grip end weights, handlebar controls, handguards and the throttle housing as applicable. These are separate parts and are not included unless specifically listed on the genuine packet.
