Technical Details

Installation Note

Support the motorcycle securely. Remove the four original cap-head bolts and the grab rail and retain them. Remove the short and long inserts from both sides of the existing passenger seat and retain them, then lift the seat at the rear and pull it rearwards.

Fit the retained short and long inserts into the correct positions on the KXA00072 seat so they locate in the seat grommets. Engage the new seat's front hooks with the motorcycle and lower the rear so the inserts align with the threaded subframe holes. Refit the original grab rail and four cap-head bolts, then tighten the bolts to 40 Nm using a calibrated torque wrench.

After fitting, pull and press the seat gently to confirm it is secure. Check that the front hooks, inserts and grab rail are correctly located. Do not ride if the seat rocks, the inserts are damaged, the hooks do not engage or the bolt holes require force.
