The Royal Enfield RAR00454 Chain Pad (also packed as RAR00454/A) is the genuine swingarm chain slider / chain guide used on the new J-Series 350 platform – Classic 350 Reborn, Meteor 350 and Hunter 350. Multiple trusted sellers list it specifically as “Chain Pad For Royal Enfield Classic 350 / Meteor 350 / Hunter 350” with SKU RAR00454/A, confirming it as the OE chain guide for these three models.
Mounted on the top of the swingarm, this pad is the sacrificial surface that the drive chain glides over. Over time it wears down, hardens or cracks, leading to metal-to-metal contact, chain slap noise, chipped paint and premature chain/sprocket wear. Replacing it with a cheap universal rubber strip is risky; the wrong profile can misalign the chain and interfere with suspension travel.
This genuine RAR00454 chain pad is moulded to the correct curvature of the J-Series swingarm and uses factory mounting points for a precise fit. Paired with a healthy chain and correct slack, it significantly reduces chain noise, slap and vibration, especially on rough roads and during aggressive acceleration or engine braking.
Ideal for Meteor 350 tourers, Hunter 350 city riders and Classic 350 Reborn owners who want the chassis to remain tight, quiet and mechanically correct. Combine it with a fresh chain/sprocket kit and proper adjustment for best results.

FAQs
Q1. What does the RAR00454 chain pad actually do?
It is the swingarm chain slider / guide. The drive chain glides over this pad instead of rubbing directly on the swingarm metal. It reduces chain noise, prevents metal wear and protects paint in the chain path.
Q2. How do I know if my chain pad needs replacement?
Check the swingarm under the chain. If the rubber pad is deeply grooved, cracked, hardened or worn through to plastic/metal, or you hear extra chain slap on bumps, it is time to replace it along with or soon after a new chain/sprocket kit.
Q3. Will RAR00454 fit my old Classic 350 UCE or Bullet 350?
No. This chain pad is confirmed for the new J-Series Classic 350 Reborn, Meteor 350 and Hunter 350 only. Old UCE-based Classic / Bullet / Thunderbird use different swingarm profiles and different chain guide part numbers.
Q4. Is RAR00454 and RAR00454/A the same part?
Yes. Dealers and export invoices list it as RAR00454 or RAR00454/A, both described simply as “CHAIN PAD” for these models. They are supersessions of the same OEM chain pad design.
Q5. Do I need any special tools to install it?
No special tools. Support the bike safely, loosen the chain, remove the old pad’s fasteners, swap in the new pad and re-torque the bolts as per manual. Then adjust chain slack to spec and lubricate.
