The Royal Enfield RLF00016/A Exhaust Valve (Kidney Bean) is the genuine OEM exhaust valve used in the latest J-Series 350 engine – fitted to the Meteor 350, Classic 350 Reborn and Hunter 350. Official Royal Enfield price lists identify RLF00016/A as “VALVE-EXHAUST”, and European parts catalogs describe it as “VALVE-EXHAUST (KIDNEY BEAN)”, confirming it as the factory exhaust valve for the 349cc J-platform.
This kidney-bean–style valve is designed for the high-swirl, torquey J-series head, ensuring proper sealing, gas flow and long service life when used with correct fuel and oil. If your 350 engine has low compression, burnt exhaust valve, misfiring on load or poor performance after overheating, replacing the damaged valve with a genuine RLF00016/A is the right way to restore stock power and reliability.
Unlike generic valves, this part maintains correct stem diameter, seat angle and face profile for the J-Series 2-valve SOHC engine, ensuring proper mating with OEM valve seats and springs. Under The Hood supplies only original Royal Enfield–spec RLF00016/A, ideal for full head rebuilds along with the matching inlet valve RLF00015/A.

FAQs
Q1. How many RLF00016/A exhaust valves does my bike need?
The J-Series 350 engine is a 2-valve head (1 inlet + 1 exhaust), so the engine uses one exhaust valve (RLF00016/A) and one inlet valve (RLF00015/A). If you’re doing a full overhaul, it’s common to replace both valves together.
Q2. What symptoms indicate a bad exhaust valve?
Common signs include low compression, difficulty starting, popping/backfire on deceleration, loss of power, white/grey deposits around the exhaust port or valve not sealing properly during leak-down tests. In such cases, inspecting and often replacing the exhaust valve is recommended.
Q3. Can I fit this on my older Classic 350 UCE or Bullet 350 UCE?
No. The older UCE engines use a different valve design and part numbers. RLF00016/A is only for the J-Series 349cc engines (Meteor 350, Classic 350 Reborn, Hunter 350).
Q4. Is this valve different from aftermarket performance valves?
Yes. This is a stock-spec OEM valve. It’s designed for factory reliability and longevity, not race tuning. For most street riders, a genuine OEM exhaust valve is the safest choice and maintains warranty-friendly spec when work is done properly.
Q5. Do I need special tools to install it?
Fitting valves requires head removal, valve spring compressor, lapping tools and feeler gauges. We strongly recommend installation by a trained mechanic to ensure correct seating, clearances and timing.
