Technical Details

Protection and Use Note

An engine guard can help keep parts of the motorcycle away from direct ground contact in some low-speed situations, but it cannot prevent every type of damage. The result depends on impact speed, direction, surface, motorcycle load and what the guard contacts.

• It is not a guarantee against engine, chassis, tank, exhaust, handlebar or body-panel damage.
• It is not designed as a stunt cage, towing point, lifting point or tie-down anchor.
• It does not replace a sump guard for protection beneath the engine.
• Do not drill, cut, heat, bend or weld the guard to install lights or other accessories.
• After any fall or impact, inspect the guard, frame mounts, fixings, exhaust clearance and cable routing before riding.

Installation Note

Royal Enfield states an approximate fitting time of 20 minutes. Installation requires removal of an original cradle fixing, correct torque application and model-specific clutch-cable routing. An authorised Royal Enfield workshop or qualified motorcycle technician is strongly recommended.

1. Support the motorcycle securely on level ground before beginning work.
2. Confirm the exact model, VIN and KXA00004 kit revision before removing original hardware.
3. Assemble the brace bar to the top mount using the revision-appropriate M6 bolts; tighten to 8 Nm.

7. Install the supplied M10 × 240 bolt, washers and U-nut; apply 55 Nm to the bolt head rather than the nut.

9. Install the top mount to the chassis using the two M8 bolts and nuts; tighten to 25 Nm.
10. Route the clutch cable behind the engine guard and follow the exact model-specific wire-guide arrangement.
11. Check and adjust clutch-cable free play to the applicable Royal Enfield specification.
12. Verify exhaust clearance, cable movement and steering operation before riding.
